In February 1995 Mischa Hofmann and Philip Voges graduated in Production and Media Industries from Munich’s Academy for Television and Film.
In 1996 they founded Hofmann & Voges Filmproduktion GmbH & Co. KG. The two partners soon made a name for themselves as young, innovative and daring producers with a feeling for exceptional concepts and successful programmes.
The company, later renamed Hofmann & Voges Entertainment, has meanwhile turned out over 170 TV and cinema productions, including 27 TV movies, 81 series episodes, 16 sitcom episodes, 36 show episodes and 10 cinema movies with an average audience attendance of 456,577 viewers per film.
From 1998 to 2004 Mischa Hofmann was a member of the board of directors of the National Association of German TV producers.
In January 2000 Hofmann & Voges Entertainment GmbH concluded a first-look contract with Constantin Film AG.
The two producers were awarded the Bavarian Film Prize 2001 for Erkan & Stefan as the best film by a young producer. From 2002 to 2004 Mischa Hofmann was a member of the jury for the German Television Award.
For Turkish for Beginners Hofmann & Voges Entertainment GmbH won the Best European Producer Award in the comedy category at the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo 2006.
Turkish for Beginners was awarded the German Television Award 2006 as best series and Kurt Krömer won the award for best comedy with his show Bei Krömers.
In 2007 Turkish for Beginners won both the Adolf Grimme Award in the category entertainment and the CIVIS Media Award for integration and cultural diversity, and was nominated for the Golden Nymphe in Monte Carlo as best comedy serial.
Saskia Vester was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize for Streets of Berlin as best actress in a serial. The 1st season of Streets in Berlin was also the German Televisian Award 2007.
Hofmann & Voges productions have meanwhile been shown world-wide at various festivals e.g. in Monte Carlo, Seattle, London, Shanghai, Vancouver, Toronto, Chicago, New York, and South Korea.
Since March 2007 Hofmann & Voges Entertainment became part of the Odeon Film AG and Mischa Hofmann is now a member of the board of management of the Odeon Film Group.
